Zip’s friends at Coker Tire attended the 2024 Corvette Expo in beautiful Pigeon Forge, TN on March 15-16, 2024.
The Corvette Expo is in its 47th year and has become the unofficial kickoff to car show season in the Southeast. Both indoors and outdoors, the expo contains a car show, parts vendors, swap meets and of course, nightlife on the Pigeon Forge strip.
One highlight of the weekend is the infamous Dragon Cruise, when Corvettes cruise the famed Tail of the Dragon, an 11 mile stretch of U.S Route 129 that features 318 curves. Bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cherokee National Forest, the Tail of the Dragon has no houses, driveways, businesses or intersecting roads! Not for sightseeing, Tail Of the Dragon is only recommended for experienced motorists!
The Corvette Expo also includes a special Chevys in The Smokies event that widens the audience from Corvette purists only to also include enthusiasts of Camaros, Chevelles, C10s, and all types of Chevrolet vehicles!
The Corvette Expo recently moved to the new LeConte Center in the heart of downtown Pigeon Forge. This convention center boasts 232,000 square feet of event space with meeting hall seating and plenty of free parking for event attendees. The LeConte Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including many different car shows. The LeConte Center is within walking distance to several of the most popular attractions that Pigeon Forge has to offer.
