Your Corvette interior has to be prepared for the Spring and Summer driving and showing Season just the same as the mechanical and exterior.  Spending a little more time in your preparation will save you time and money later on.  By making sure all of the electrical switches, wiring and gauges work correctly now may save your from a breakdown or worse.  Cleaning and lubricating your door hinges, latches, window mechanisms and vent cables now will give you a worry-free fun Season.  It is much easier to start with a totally clean and conditioned interior and maintain it than to have to keep fixing this or working on that.

Remember, the better your preparation, the more fun time you will have with your Corvette during the Show and Go Season

Corvette Interior Preparation pic 01: Start by checking all of the dash wiring for any frayed or broken wires. Check all of the electrical connections and terminals. After you have done this, check the operation of all of the gauges and switches. It is also a good idea to lubricate and adjust all of your vent and heater cables at this time.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 02: Lube all of the door hinges and latches with white lithium grease. Also check the operation of the window mechanisms. If they are hard to operate, now is the time to lube and adjust them.

04: Remove the seats and then clean and lube the seat tracks with white grease for smooth operation.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 05: It is a good time to clean the seats while they are out. If they are vinyl, follow the procedure for cleaning the vinyl door panels. If they are leather, start by cleaning the seats with a good leather saddle soap. First remove any loose dirt with a damp rag. Now take the saddle soap and develop a good lather on a moist sponge and work it well into the leather.

Corvette Interior Preparation pic 07: Next use a good grade of mink oil paste. Put a small amount on a clean cloth and work it well into the leather, especially around the seams and stitching. Do the lower cushion, backrest and the back of the seat. Remember, a small amount goes a long way.

This not only will keep the leather soft, it will also waterproof it. Note: Mink oil will sometimes darken a light color, so try it on an inconspicuous place first.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 09: Use a good grade of vinyl cleaner or a household cleaner, such as 409, etc., to clean all of the vinyl, door panels, armrests, dash, visors, headliner.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 10: Now use a quality vinyl dressing and do all of the vinyl which you have previously cleaned.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 11: Thoroughly vacuum the interior. Use an attachment with long bristles to bring any dirt up to the surface so it can be vacuumed up and out of the carpet.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 12: Clean all of your pedal pads and then use a rubber or vinyl dressing to protect them.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 13: Clean all of your door weatherstrips and other rubber seals. Then coat them with a rubber dressing. This will leave the rubber looking fresh and will keep it soft.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 14: Polish all of the interior chrome with a quality chrome cleaner.
Corvette Interior Preparation pic 15: Use a glass cleaner with either vinegar or ammonia and a lint free cloth or newspaper to clean all of the glass both inside and out.
