You are going to a show and the engine and engine compartment are detailed but you still have one problem. What are you going to do with those exhaust manifolds? Multi shades of rust clash with those nicely painted heads. You do not want to remove manifolds. How are you going to detail them without alot of work? The solution is simple. Call Zip Products, Inc., 8067 Fast Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, (800) 962-9632, and order a can of Calyx Manifold Dressing. You can have both manifolds detailed within one hour and not have to remove them. This product is perfect for anyone who drives their Corvette but wants to retain that detailed look on the exhaust manifold. Calyx not only works, it is simple to use and any product that works and is easy to use rates highly in my book.

Our Project 64’s exhaust manifolds needed to be detailed so they were a prime candidate for Calyx Manifold Dressing. One application and they looked like new. Let’s get started and see just how easy it is to use.

01.jpg 01: This is all you will need to do the job: 1 small can of Calyx, wire brushes and some small soft bristled brushes. Different size brushes will let you get into most places. You can even apply Calyx with your finger.
02.jpg 02: Start by thoroughly brushing the cool exhaust manifolds with a wire brush to remove any rust scale or dirt. Wipe the manifolds clean. You can use brake cleaner, alcohol or lacquer thinner.

03: Apply the dressing directly to the manifold with a brush, rag or finger. Brushes work in most places and your finger will work in tight spots. Remember to use a little at a time because it will spread. The more you work Calyx down into the pores of the manifold, the better it will look.

04: If you would like a shine, use a soft paintbrush and rapidly buff across the surface. The faster you buff, the higher the shine.
05.jpg 05: Start the engine and let it run until it reaches operating temperature. The job is done and your manifolds should look great. Our Project 64’s manifolds are a prime example of what can be done with a little Calyx Dressing.
