My 2008 Corvette Coupe on order will have the Dual Mode Exhaust option. This option causes straight thru exhaust to occur at about 3,500 rpms.

I was planning to disconnect the fuse to the Dual Mode Exhaust system so that the butterfly valves are open all of the time. Straight thru exhaust from idle on up.

A. Should I have any concerns about doing this?

B. Does having the valves open all of the time cause any risk of damage to my engine?

C. Would having the valves open all of the time cause me to lose any engine power?

D. Would having the valves open all of the time cause me to lose any gas mileage?

You will not harm anything by pulling the fuse on the exhaust valve. The only side effect this will have is on you and not the vehicle. You probably will not notice much of a performance difference since the valve opens at 3000 RPM's anyways. As far as gas mileage it will not be effected unless you lean on the pedal more. As far as you being effected, just your ears.

Please don't be insulted, but what information did you use to base your reply on? Do you know if the factory agrees with your comments? I'm just trying to determine the validity of your comments. Please advise.

Just on base knowledge of the car and how it works. If this was the case where it would cause damage, Corsa, B&B and Borla would be out of business. By the way, I am not insulted in any way, it is good to be 100% with any information coming off the internet.
