FX3 suspension 1 Year ago
Is there anything special about removing and replacing these shocks that is different from anyother shock. Can these shocks be removed and replaced with shocks that are not for the fx3 option.

Thank you for any advice you can give me.

You can install a regular shock on the car but you are going to throw a error code. I think if you leave the controllers hooked up you might be able to get around the code problem.

I have a 91 Roadster with the FX3 suspension and I have had a few problems with it over the years and the parts are expensive, I was told the system could be replaced with standard gas shocks and if you want to turn the codes off you can get someone to do that. BUT heres my story. First I had the best shocks I could get installed but before I went any further I drove the car for a few days...and yes you see the "Service Ride Control" light up. Personally I did not like the way the car handled anymore. Basically the car handled like it was in the "Sport" setting. Driving straight down the road it was ok but cornering was greatly reduced. I took the gas shocks off and fixed the FX3 system.
