Joe Polai has his own
version of TLC — "Tender love and cash." That’s what he
put into his 1991 Corvette after he purchased it in 2000. "It was in
dire need of a paint job — the paint was cracked, chipped, and faded,"
he explains. "The car was used and abused by the previous owners and
need that TLC to bring it back to a nice condition." As you can see,
Joe did a great job with the make-over, which also included a number of exterior
modifications (like Grand Sport fender hash marks and fender flares, taillight
louvers, GS brakes, etc.) and a new Sport Suspension from Eckler’s. From
the factory, the C4 came with the L98 engine, 6-speed, FX3 suspension, leather
sport seats, glass top, and electronic temperature control. For improved performance,
Joe enlisted TPIS in Chaska, Minnesota to add a 3 1/2-inch cat-back exhaust
system, 4.09 rear gears, B&M Ripper shifter, TPIS Fast Pack Kit, and ZR1
chrome wheels.
