C1 Corvette
I purchased this Corvette 2 years ago, it was in a barn for about 30 years. It is a 1961 dual 4, 245 HP, 4 speed with all numbers matching with 77K original miles. I removed the body from the frame, all new parts, fasteners, etc.. The body was carefully sanded down to the gel coat. The original color was Jewel Blue as it is now. All chrome refinished, all new interior all parts new or rebuilt. The interior is new complete. The engine had never apart and had to be bored .040 over to clean up. Great driving car.
Thanks for letting me tell you about it!
Dennis

Freeman Hollomon’s 1962 Corvette convertible came off the St. Louis assembly line in february or march of 1962 with white paint, a 327 V8, and a four-speed transmission. Obviously, the car has gone through a transformation since then. Freeman, who purchased the car right off the drag strip in july 1999 as a 36th birthday present to himself, has gone the customized route with Smoke Grey and Pewter paint, a grey canvas top, hood scoop, slotted mags, and built-up 383 stroker that produces 430 horsepower. You can check out the progression photos and other facts about Freeman’s ’62 at his Website, www.62vette.net. weather," Dennis says. "L98 C4s are the best!"

This is an old picture of my father, Robert M Britton, with his Corvette. He's currently in Knoxville Tennessee, but this was back in central Michigan. Who says Vette's aren't practical?

I acquired this car in 2000. The only person who loves her more than me is my six year old son. Alan Baron New York, NY

I'm the third owner of this almost perfect 61 matching numbers beauty. I drive this car routinely during the warm weather days, it really turns alot of heads. The photo shoot was across the street from historic Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas on the weekend of the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette. The Mobil service station is a National Historic Site and is now a museum. We saw some 800 -1000 cars on I-40 come through North Little Rock on their way to the celebration. Les No. Little Rock, AR

My 61 was bought as a project car in may 2001 and finished in july 2003 after countless hours of work and a lot of help from my friends. I don't know much of it's history, other than the guy I bought it from had rescued it from a hard life of drag racing with the hopes of restoring it but never quite got around to it.

Wally Knoch purchased his 1962 fuelie Corvette new in Miami, Florida, where it was his college car during his days at the University of Miami. Wally drove the car just nine miles before replacing the original wheels with Dayton knock-off radial lace wires, which are still on the 30,000-mile car today. "I’m probably the only person left who could make such a statement," Wally says. The solid black ’62 came with the 360-horsepower fuel injection engine, 4-speed transmission, 4.56 posi-traction rearend, off-road exhaust, auxiliary hardtop, Wonderbar radio, and metallic brakes. Now residing in Dearborn, Michigan, Wally says he drives the car very infrequently today, "in respect of its age and mine."

Martin Reich from Hasbergen, Germany, purchased his ’57 Corvette in april 1995 from the car’s third owner, Gary Kenneth, in Florida. According to Martin, “A 57`Corvette is very rare in Germany. The only Corvette club interested in older Corvettes is the Corvette Club Bayern (www.corvette-club-bayern.de). At the summer meet, they judge the old cars for originality and condition. I’m very proud of my Bavarian Corvette Award. I’m a firm believer in enjoying my Corvette, as proven by the photo of the car at the historic race called "Eifel Klassik" on the famous Nürburgring. It was the first time that an American car took part in this race. I got a lot of thumbs up from the European sportscar drivers. I finished sixth in my class, but most important is to have fun, meet old friends, and make new friends.” Martin, who is a founding and lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum, says previous owner Kenneth owned the ’57 for 25 years. “I hope I will keep it the next 25!” You can see more photos of Martin’s ’57 at his Website, www.martinsranch.de.

Last day of production 57 Corvette. 283, Fuel Injection, 4-speed, both tops. Originally 4.11 positrac, now has 3.08 for highway cruising. Still has the old "traction masters" on it from drag racing back in the day. Pictures taken in North Carolina in 2003. We joined the Southern California Caravan in Oklahoma and drove with it to Nashville for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, went on to North Carolina for a week, then drove back to Oklahoma. The car is mostly original components and is driven regularly. Bowling Green in 2004, Park City, Utah in 2005. We wave at Corvettes! Verle Randolph Oklahoma
