To eliminate the possibility of an unforeseen road hazard spoiling the day, Zip’s new acquisition was carefully loaded into their show-circuit trailer and hauled home. Upon its unloading 600+ miles later, Abbott declared to Walker: “You have three days to put serious mileage on this car; Tuesday we have an appointment on the dyno.” Saturday and Sunday were beautiful fall days, and Walker reports, “It was pure pleasure adding the first 300 miles to this amazing car. Chevrolet has outdone themselves yet again, as performance and handling are both above and beyond the C5. Even more obvious is the overall drivability of this newest Corvette – this is one fine machine!”
