turn heads, like his 383 Lingenfelter. In Talmage’s concise verbage, "I

There’s more to this story. Talmage wanted Lingenfelter serial
number 01 for the year 2000. He got his new C5 in early august of 1999 and drove
in a mad dash to Lingenfelter’s shop in Indiana. Another man named Dobbs
beat him. Larry Dobbs, the former owner of Corvette Fever magazine, beat
Talmage by 24 hours and got the number 01 Lingenfelter for 2000.
