Racing kicked off its 2002 season on Saturday, march 16, with a
sensational win at The 12 Hours of Sebring. Ron Fellows, Johnny OConnell,
and Oliver Gavin battled crippling heat and a gaggle of Saleens, Ferraris,
and Vipers enroute to victory in the 50th running of North Americas
greatest endurance race.
Having already won the GTS class at both Le Mans and the
Petite Le Mans, as well as overall honors at Daytona, Sebring remained the
one major endurance race Corvette Racing hadnt won.
