Off-season testing is essential and the Corvette team worked just as hard between their last race in october 2001 and now as they do during the height of the season. Several thousand miles of testing over the winter yielded better tires, improved aerodynamics, more horsepower, and better handling. 

Chevrolet’s factory Corvette racing program goes into the 2002 season with tremendous optimism. The combination of top driving talent, highly developed racing cars, and a super skilled crew bode well for this year’s championship chase, which begins at Sebring on march 16.
