Owner 62
Wally
Knoch purchased his 1962 fuelie Corvette new in Miami, Florida, where it was
his college car during his days at the University of Miami. Wally drove the
car just nine miles before replacing the original wheels with Dayton knock-off
radial lace wires, which are still on the 30,000-mile car today. "Im
probably the only person left who could make such a statement," Wally
says. The solid black 62 came with the 360-horsepower fuel injection
engine, 4-speed transmission, 4.56 posi-traction rearend, off-road exhaust,
auxiliary hardtop, Wonderbar radio, and metallic brakes. Now residing in Dearborn,
Michigan, Wally says he drives the car very infrequently today, "in respect
of its age and mine."
