LEFT: Now unplug the connection from the Mass Air Flow assembly. This has the typical GM connection where you have to release the locking tab and then pull the connection apart. A small screwdriver works nicely at lifting the latch used to hold the plug together.

BELOW LEFT: Take a minute to check this air intake hose for leaks. If you have a small crack, the computer is going to be working overtime. Remember, the air flow to your engine is measured by the MAF, which is in front of this flexible housing. If you have a leak in the intake hose you’re going to be letting more air into the engine than is being measured by the MAF sensor.
