LEFT: One of the first checks is to see how much wear the throttle shaft has caused in the throttle body housing. Simply put your hand on the cruise control diaphragm and squeeze it a few times while you watch the throttle shaft. There shouldn’t be much movement at all. If your throttle shaft moves when you squeeze on the cruise control bellows, it means there’s some fairly serious wear in the throttle body housing. If you get a lot of movement you should really begin to consider purchasing a new throttle body.
