Green bought this 2000 C5 brand-new, explaining, "When Chevrolet introduced
the new Vette in 1997, I heard rumors they were coming out with a fixed roof
version later. Instead of buying a coupe, I waited on the hardtop. When I first
saw it I really loved it because it has more of a roadster look."
From day one, Chris planned to modify his C5, mostly for
show with a racy attitude.
Green started with the suspension. "I replaced the factory
leaf springs with adjustable coil-over Penske racing shocks so I can adjust
the ride height." For shows, Chris lowers the body about two and one half
inches, which is fairly radical. "Mostly I trailer it, but when I do drive,
I raise it about a half inch all the way around for clearance. People seem to
really like it. Ive always gotten good compliments."
