the hood was a one-of-a-kind custom. The body needed extensive work and overall the car was in pretty sad shape.
    "The amount of money I put in the car? Hell, the only things on the car that hadn’t been touched from when I bought it are the seats, hood, and steering wheel. I’ve replaced all the running gear - the engine, transmission, driveline, brakes, exhaust, cooling system, the electrical system, you name it. I modified the front end with the aluminum nose. The headlight covers are custom."
    That’s probably why the professionals in the audience weren’t offering too much competition to the bidding. They didn’t want such a big project.
