For
the uninformed, McLaren center-seat exotic sells for over a million dollars,
which puts in sharp perspective the "hundred and a half" Rembold
spent on his Lingenfelter.
Initially,
Rich merely wanted his Corvette modified by Lingenfelter. He sent his C5 to
LPE for the installation of a Stage 1 twin turbo on the stock LS1 engine.
Today, Rembold is a molecule blasé with his recollection of 500 horsepower.
Rich
and his wife are members of the National Council Of Corvette Clubs. Locally,
they are joined to the Bel Air Corvette Club, in the Maryland city of the
same name. "We started showing the car at various events," Rich
explains. "And we also enjoyed it out on the highway."
A year
