Supercharged 80
Last
january, Thomas Retelny acquired one wild ride, a 13,500-mile 1980 Corvette
with a pair of polished Magna superchargers on the 350
engine. "What is nice about these twin superchargers," says
Retelny, "is that if you like a sleeper car, you don't have anything
sticking out of the hood." On each of the superchargers is a Dellorto
side draft carburetor, plus the engine is detailed with chrome and polished
aluminum, although Thomas says it could always use some more. "I am told
it puts out between 360 and 500 horsepower, but I haven't had it on the dyno
yet." The car's perfect paint job is black with a blue pearl coat.
Other mods include a Daytona hood, Daytona wire K.O. wheels, and chrome side
pipes.
