When Glen Spielberg finally found the original Ko-Motion ’67 Corvette drag car, he learned it had been towed from the drag strip, then stored for 30 years. It still had 10.74 shoe-polished on the rear window with a 10.74 time slip lying under the seat. The L88-powered Corvette was originally built and tuned by Joel Rosen from Motion Performance, with sponsorship from Motion, Baldwin Chevrolet, the Motion Supercar Club, and Cars magazine. "I’ve had a love affair with the Ko-Motion since 1968 when I was 8-years-old," says Spielberg. "I saw it while on a school field trip in Brooklyn." Now Spielberg owns an important piece of Corvette competition history.

Chip explained in the Corvettes at Carlisle event program.

The majority of Corvettes in this year’s Chip’s Choice were Chevy Vettefest Triple Crown winners, cars that have achieved three of the top Corvette show awards — NCRS Top Flight, Blooming Gold certification, and the Chevy Vettefest Gold Spinner. So these are among the best of the best. Out of the available Triple Crown winners, Chip chose the first and last model year of each series. To those successful show winners, Chip added a Chevrolet competition prototype, an original road racer, a famous drag racer, and a just-completed Pro Street Corvette.
