    Installation of the Gripper shifter on our 2001 Corvette was relatively simple, although we did run into a slight hitch with the removal of the small aluminum plug, used to keep the original knob centered, due to some burrs from the factory. However, using WD-40 and needle-nose pliers, we were finally able to finagle the plug out of the shifter. Otherwise, the installation was fairly simple and something anyone can do in the home garage or driveway.
