there somewhere. I saw vendors in the Hyatt parking lot and Corvettes for sale parked outside. What I came so far to see were those incredible NCRS Corvettes undergoing concours, nit-picking judging.
After directions and a few failed attempts, I found the concours Corvettes in the Hyatt's Florida Room, a convention hall large enough to hold about 90 vehicles. Upon entering, I saw the glorious sight of “men at work,” lying on their backs staring at suspension components while judging originality. Other judges held clipboards and did scoring on the interior. I noticed one man was looking through a telescope towards an engine compartment where another man was shining a light. Low and behold, they were “checking numbers” on the engine block. Do you see what I mean by refreshing? These people are experts in their one specific area.
Here’s a sampling of NCRS judges from the Florida show. From left to right are Jimmy McCutcheon, from Birmingham, Alabama, Robert Boucot from Wolcott, Connecticut, Ron Jones, from Amhurstburg, Ontario, Canada, and Keith Biggers from Atlanta, Georgia. Biggers is national team leader for the 1967 division and Regional Director, Region IV.
