Scratch all this action at an NCRS event. This club is made up of the Corvette
cognoscenti, people who “preserve” history and are keepers of the flame. There’s
no admission charge and, for most events, the NCRS doesn’t advertise to invite
the public. Ed augustine, ringmaster of the Florida regional (first of eight
throughout the year, leading up to the nationals) explained they did get 20,000
attendees at this year’s event. Sunny january being such an oxymoron, Corvette
people obviously like to come down from the cold northern climes to Orlando.

keep cool when I arrived at the Hyatt Orlando on Thursday in search of

The
only red-on-red L88 coupe built is this one owned by Alvin Steinman, from Groton,
CT. What a thrill to see the illustrious L88 of 1967. A mere 16 were built,
making them among the most coveted Corvettes of all time.
