"I loved the
96 Grand Sport," John Caravaggio confesses. He adds, "My wife
kept bugging me to buy one. To this day she wants one. But instead of buying
a used one, I decided to take the Z06, which already has the red accents on
the engine, and build a 2001 Grand Sport convertible."
John
owns Caravaggio Corvettes in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, where he has been
modifying Corvettes for nearly 20 years. Before the 86 convertible came
out, he was custom building drop-top Corvettes. He also works with John Cafaro,
the chief Corvette designer, on various aftermarket Corvette projects.
