After removing the fuel supply and vent lines (insert a bolt into the fuel line to stop the flow of fuel) from under the car, use a 9/16 open-end wrench to loosen the brass fitting on the fuel line that goes from the pump to the carb and pull the line free of the pump.

dry, and I expect to get better mileage now that I'm not leaking fuel out the diaphragm vents anymore. And with rising gasoline prices, that's a good thing, indeed!


Use a hydraulic jack to get the front end of the car off the ground and place jack stands under the frame on both sides to support the vehicle.
