Perhaps
the most distinctive of those products is the decklid and waterfall, designed
in the style of the C5. "We spent about two months making the molds to
reproduce the C5 look for the C4," Steve explained. "Those are not
C5 parts on a C4."
At
the recent C5 Bash at the National Corvette Museum, there was Steve with his
C4, drawing a crowd that encircled him and his Corvette. With the hood open,
spectators marveled at the quality and enormity of the chroming. Fleming explains
the mirrors, made of acrylic, are very durable. The chrome is so smooth and
satin-like that mouths drop and eyes glaze over as they stare. Nowhere
is the quality of the chrome more evident than on the sill plates. Fleming custom
builds his sill plates the full length of the door opening and adds custom etches
for a final touch.
