LEFT:
Here is what our belts looked
like up close. You can see all the water stains from our Stingray leaking at
the seals.
BOTTOM LEFT: Heres
the real problem with old belts. The rotted condition where the strap mounts
to the housing is dangerous and can only be checked by removing them, as we
did. This one reason alone is worth replacing them.
beforehand so we could
match the reconditioned belts to our new Torch Red seat covers. Then we removed
the ratty original belts, boxed them up, and shipped them to the Ssnake-Oyl
facility in Tyler, Texas, where they were rebuilt and restored to better-than-new
condition. Now our seat belts are a perfect match for the Torch Red upholstery,
and theyre obviously a lot safer too.
