LEFT: When removing the seat belts and receivers, it’s a good idea make a note of the passenger side from the driver’s side.

BOTTOM LEFT:
Removing the seat belts is quite easy. One bolt retains each strap housing. Here the passenger seat has been removed, carpeting pulled back, and a fiberboard that covers the housing area removed to show the lower strap housing and strap bar that directs the seat belt in and out. Remove this bar first, then unbolt the strap housing.

   
Researching the availability of new belts, we discovered that they are quite expensive, plus since we were also changing the color of our interior, obtaining new 1974 belts in the new Torch Red was not going to be easy. Then we talked with Ssnake-Oyl Products, who offer very affordable reconditioning of seat belts and can also provide them in different color choices. Ssnake-Oyl even provided us with color samples
