LEFT:
When removing the seat belts and receivers, its a good idea make a note
of the passenger side from the drivers side.
BOTTOM LEFT: Removing
the seat belts is quite easy. One bolt retains each strap housing. Here the
passenger seat has been removed, carpeting pulled back, and a fiberboard that
covers the housing area removed to show the lower strap housing and strap
bar that directs the seat belt in and out. Remove this bar first, then unbolt
the strap housing.
Researching
the availability of new belts, we discovered that they are quite expensive,
plus since we were also changing the color of our interior, obtaining new
1974 belts in the new Torch Red was not going to be easy. Then we talked with
Ssnake-Oyl Products, who offer very affordable reconditioning of seat belts
and can also provide them in different color choices. Ssnake-Oyl even provided
us with color samples
