the late 1960s. Actually, all that’s salvaged from the muscle car era are the classic numbers, thanks to Chevrolet’s return to those thrilling big cube days of yesteryear in their current C5-R, which is the block upon which this black coupe is modified.
   
Drews’ coupe was actually the first customer car converted to a 427, which Lingenfelter added to his arsenal of tuner Corvettes for drivers who prefer normally-aspirated performance. Basically, this package consists of a bored and stroked C5-R aluminum block, topped with LS6 heads and intake from the Z06 Corvette. Lingenfelter adds his CNC porting work, custom forged aluminum pistons, Lunati custom forged steel crankshaft, Lunati billet steel connecting rods, LPE hydraulic roller camshaft, and a host of other features.
