them, and all of the hard-earned improvements that come with experience, this looked like it could finally be Corvette’s race.
This year’s competition came from two camps. A pair of GTS-R Dodge Vipers, entered by a team called American Viper Racing, would attempt to defend Chrysler’s hold on Sebring’s GTS class title. The new kid on the block, a Saleen S7R, was entered by Germany’s Konrad Motorsports. The experienced and skilled crew from Konrad would try to take advantage of the Saleen’s inherent — and some would say unfair — design superiority.

The pair of Vipers came out of the previously dominant Team Oreca inventory after Oreca retired from GTS racing last season. As such, the cars are proven winners that should run up front all day.
