them,
and all of the hard-earned improvements that come with experience, this looked
like it could finally be Corvettes race.
This years
competition came from two camps. A pair of GTS-R Dodge Vipers, entered by a
team called American Viper Racing, would attempt to defend Chryslers hold
on Sebrings GTS class title. The new kid on the block, a Saleen S7R, was
entered by Germanys Konrad Motorsports. The experienced and skilled crew
from Konrad would try to take advantage of the Saleens inherent
and some would say unfair design superiority.
The
pair of Vipers came out of the previously dominant Team Oreca inventory after
Oreca retired from GTS racing last season. As such, the cars are proven winners
that should run up front all day.
