Carlisle Productions, which has grown to include 12 events this year, is Chip’s
work focus, as evidenced by the scattering of paperwork and Fed Ex boxes on
the condo’s coffee table and floor. Outside that, Corvettes take up much of
Chip’s time. And within Corvettes, Chip devotes time and energy to judging Survivor
cars, running down parts for his trio of vintage solid-axle race cars, and planning
out his Chip’s Choice display at Corvettes at Carlisle. Today, Chip is also
energized, perhaps more so than anything else, by the Corvette’s upcoming 50
anniversary, not only for Corvettes at Carlisle but also as the celebration
relates to the entire Corvette hobby. In the Corvette world, Chip is a very
important player and one whose ideas and opinions can affect how we all enjoy
our Corvettes.
Which is why we set out to corner Chip at his St. Pete
condo for a couple of hours for an interview. However, with Chip, when he starts
talking about his passions, it’s almost impossible to slow him down long enough
to slip in any prepared questions. So what follows is verbal essay of sorts,
from the mind of Chip Miller as it relates to Corvettes, most notably Chip’s
“Tell
everyone that this is the proposed property for Carlisle South!” Chip joked.
Actually, this is the view of St. Pete Beach that Chip and his wife, Judy, enjoy
for three months of the year."
