Paul feels that these older frames are stronger than the C4 frames. Newman researched
and developed the old X-member frame to accept the late-model C4 (1985-96) Corvette
springs, shocks, A-arms, and literally every other

Bottom: Frame rails remain stock at the
back. C4 half-shafts are a new look in a Straight Axle. New rear tie rods (one
under each half shaft) are an improvement to stock, which sat a little too high
and banged into the bottom of the frame. Newman added the aluminum torque arm,
which has the bridge work and hooks to the front of the differential. It keeps
the differential from twisting and makes the car drive so much better.
