Newman, who had built race cars for over 20 years, saw a market for a hybrid frame for C1 enthusiasts craving late-model handling. Today, Newman’s shop in Templeton, California, is backed up for a year with C1/C4 (and now C2/C4) frame conversions, so his efforts are paying off.
