Corvettes
first impressed Dennis at the young age of ten. That was in 1957, the year
Corvettes were available with a heavy-duty racing suspension and 4-speed manual.
Ten years later, Dennis had his eyes on a new SS 396 Chevelle, but when he
saw a yellow 67 327, 4-speed Corvette convertible on the showroom floor,
he made a mental note..."someday."
"Someday"
came in 1973. By then, Dennis was established in his job as a cartographer
for the Federal government, and he was ready to get his dream car. A classified
ad in the Washington Post led him to Bob Rosencrance, the original
owner of a white-with-blue interior 327, 4-speed convertible. At $2,200, the
price was right, so the deal was cinched.
