The 24 Hours of Le Mans is not only the most famous road race in the world, it’s also the most difficult. The brutal twice around the clock contest will, in time, reveal any weaknesses in a car or team. Adding to the difficulties involved in racing full tilt for all day and all night was this year’s horrendous weather. Throughout the entire race, long periods of torrential rain were interspersed with brief periods of bright sunshine, leading to many mechanical/electrical failures, several accidents, and numerous full-course yellow flags.
   
While the awful weather proved an obstacle to most teams, it actually helped the C5-Rs, which have always done better than competitors in the rain.
