Vette Brakes composite rear spring, polyurethane camber rod bushings, and heavy-duty steering rods. Brakes remain 11-inch drums, but their stopping power has been enhanced with Bendix performance shoes, stainless braided Teflon hoses, and stainless steel power master cylinder.
     Obviously, the tame exterior appearance is deceiving, although no doubt the roar from the Flowmaster mufflers indicates that there’s something stouter under the hood. But no one expects twin turbos in a ’64 StingRay that appears to be more suited for cruise nights than high-speed cruising on the New Jersey Turnpike.
     Lingenfelter C5s best beware.
