MSD-6 ignition are managed by an Edelbrock timing computer with integral sensor-timing
retard and adjustable rev limiter.
For
both reliability and fifth-gear bonuses, the original transmission was replaced
by a Tremec 3550, a stout 5-speed that has been strengthened even more for turbo
duty with internal modifications by Forte Performance. A Hays flywheel with
Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and pressure plate sends the power rearward,
finally ending up at the ’74 big-block differential with 3.08 gears and Muskegon
cover.
For
strength and durability, John added gussets to the frame and welded all of the
frame seals. The control arm supports and shock towers are gusseted as well.
Suspension modifications include Herb Adams control arm sleeve bearings and
trailing arm spherical bearings, Rancho State II adjustable sway bars,
