bearing
fulcrums and roller-tips to reduce the operating friction as well as valve guide
and stem tip wear.
"We've
taken all of the weak links out of the valvetrain," said Vinci. "The
pushrods are lighter and stronger than stock, and we include a steel guideplate
to keep the pushrods in place."
This
trick set-up is also quieter, which can give back more horsepower because the
anti-detonation sensor, which "listens" for damaging engine detonation,
will retard the timing when it detects that knock. With a "quieter"
valvetrain, you get less timing retardation and more horsepower.
Vinci's
Roller-Rocker package comes with 16 aluminum rockers, studs, guideplates, pushrods,
and adjusting nuts, and is available for 1998-up GM LS1 engines. The package
is also adaptable to the ZO6's LS6 engine with the addition
The
factory rocker arm set-up is simply stamped steel rockers with a roller tip.
Lack of adjustability also restricts cam changes.
Vinci’s
Roller-Rockers are made from extruded billet, heat-treated aluminum bar stock,
while the steel components (pushrods, guideplates, etc.) are CNC-machined and
heat-treated for strength and wear resistance
