Corvettes have a long and storied history at Daytona International Speedway, including numerous class wins and top 10 overall finishes in the track’s famous 24-hour race. Chevrolet’s factory-sponsored Corvette race team is adding to that history again this year on february 3-4 with two entries that will compete for class honors and, with some luck, maybe even an overall victory.
    
The C5-R program made its competition debut at the 1999 Rolex 24 at Daytona with a two-car team. Decked out in their original black and silver paint scheme (to accommodate sponsor Mr. Goodwrench), the Corvettes took their place on the starting grid with 81 other cars.
