
With the lower dash removed, you can loosen the steering column. Use a 15mm socket to remove the bolts. The column will not fall to the floor because it is still held in place with bolts at the firewall. You do not need to remove these.
Next, remove the two bolts that hold the panel in place. They are located in the center of the panel; you will have to feel for the hole they are located in. Use a 13mm socket to remove them, then let the panel hang down by the ALDL connector. If you choose, you can remove the panel by unscrewing the ALDL connector with a 7mm socket.
