Vintage Corvettes are undeniably neat. For those of us who grew up in the fifties or sixties, they bring back youthful memories of top-down freedom and carefree Saturday night cruising through the local drive-in. Or, at the very least, if you couldn’t afford a Sting Ray back in the sixties, you certainly admired them and even envied the obviously more affluent gent in the driver’s seat, usually with the good-looking blonde next to him.

But the horrible truth of the matter is that while the classic shape of the older Corvettes revives those warm and fuzzy nostalgic feelings, today they drive like, well, older Corvettes. If you’re used to driving a new C5 Corvette, or even a new Suburban for that matter, an fifties or sixties Corvette is not going to match the smoothness, reliability, convenience, or overall performance.
