Top
Left: Now remove the top cover, which is retained by two Phillip
screws. There is a lip on this trim piece that slides under the interior header
molding.
Bottom Left: You
can now see the clip that retains the visor. With a small flat-head screwdriver
and pointed awl, pry off the clip, then the washer that has gripping teeth
on it. Be careful so you can reuse the washer. There is a spring underneath
which also needs to be reused with the new visors.
Top Right: Once the clips and springs
are removed, the visor is ready to come out, but you still have to unplug
it if you have a lighted mirror. On 1984-85 Corvettes, you will have to change
the plug to be able to plug in the new visor.
Bottom Right: These are the original replacement
visors from Zip Products. The part numbers we ordered were I-1600 and I-1602.
The install kit numbers were I-1128 and I-1129. Zip Products also has the
plug kits.
