When an admirer in
Georgia commissioned Steve to build a custom ‘98 Corvette, Steve and his son
Aaron were soon converting Design Specialties into a business of building cars
and selling parts.
As
we looked over the white C5 at the Orlando NCRS meet, we noticed the Lou Bachrodt
Chevrolet window sticker. Fleming explained, “We did some car shows with Bachrodt
(Pompano Beach and Coconut Creek), and they approached us about customizing
new Corvettes for their showroom. We don’t get into anything internally, strictly
cosmetics, so they can still offer the cars with the full factory warranty.”
The
car has “Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet, Custom Corvette #2,” etched into a mirror under
