Yellow with red interior was not recommended for the 2000 Corvette because dealers didn't want to get stuck with an unpopular color combination. But, my, how tastes do change. According to Corvette engineer Tom Hill, Millennium Yellow has become the most popular color for the 2001 Z06. At the recent january NCRS regional meet in Orlando, Hill displayed a Millennium Yellow Z06 coupe and guess what the interior color was? Red with black accent. Corvettes with this color combo are currently back-ordered and very hard to get, Hill revealed.
Apparently, yellow/red is now in good taste amongst the Corvette cognoscenti.
