From Pontiac to ’71 Vette

Tony Buccuti admits that he made the leap about seven years ago. Formerly a die-hard Pontiac owner, having owned a pair of older Trans-Ams and a GTO, Tony says he "moved up" to Corvette ownership with the purchase of this red-on-red 1971 convertible. With a white convertible top and the base 270-horsepower/4-speed drivetrain, Tony says the Corvette is just what he wanted — not a 100-point show car but a true driver that looks and runs great. Although mostly original, Tony has upgraded the radio and shifter, plus he added the factory sidepipes because, "I always wanted a car with sidepipes!" Tony puts around 2,000 miles a year on the Corvette and, over the seven years he’s owned it, has never had a problem.
