prior to Z06. The starting
point for the engine build was the LS1, which is MTIs specialty. When
they bored and stroked the engine to 422 cubes, or about 7 liters, while utilizing
many Z06 parts, including LS6 intake and heads, the Z07 moniker made sense.
One
shouldnt ask MTI for an identical Z07 build. "Its kind of
a one-off motor. Im like their test bed," S.W. explains.
The
need for speed pushed the Z07 concept past boundaries. S.W. reveals, "Every
time we modified something, we created a new problem. We were experimenting
a lot."
