As always, anyone driving a Corvette to Corvettes at Carlisle was allowed
to park inside the grounds. However, as always, the Carlisle Fairgrounds
were filled to capacity by late Saturday morning, so hundreds of Corvettes
had to park outside.

C5-R race car was actually a street car decked out in racing colors
and trim. Howd you like to drive this to work every day?
This years
showstopper in the Fun Field was Rich Lagasses just-completed
1962 Corvette with a Z06 drivetrain. Watch for a feature on this innovative

Even
Corvettes not registered for the Fun Field are allowed to park inside
the Carlisle Fairgrounds, which helps make Corvettes at Carlisle one
of the largest if not the largest gatherings of Corvettes
in the world. On Saturday, the 82-acre facility was filled to capacity
with Corvettes, manufacturer displays, and swap meet vendors, so hundreds
of Corvettes had to be turned away at the gates for parking outside.
Beautiful
weather no doubt contributed to the huge turn-out of Corvette enthusiasts,
who were treated to displays like Chips Choice, the Corvette Sale
Salon, NCRS Gallery, and other special exhibits. Instead of trying to
highlight all the activities here in the text, weve covered them
in an expanded photo galley.
Enjoy
the photos from the 2001 edition of Corvettes at Carlisle, and look
for more coverage in the coming weeks.
