Repair
in Valley Steam, New York, brought what is arguably the winningest Corvette
racer in history, the ‘69 L-88 originally ordered new and built up by Doug Bergen,
who was present at the display.
Temperatures
hovered in the mid-90s, making the museum an air-conditioned haven for viewing
cars, taking time out for a seminar in the 200-seat theater, or buying memorabilia
in the gift shop or at the “silent auction.” The museum, as you probably know,
features a rotating display of cars, many of them owned by enthusiasts. A trip
to the NCM is a joy for Corvette aficionados at any time of the year.
