shake hands. One of them was Paul Nowak, a C5 Registry member from Edwardsville,
Illinois. While I waited for the pair to finish their chat, I noticed a preponderance
of yellow Corvettes in the
parking lot. Weidman explained, “Chevrolet had a Millennium Yellow for 2000,
so we decided any yellow Corvette, no matter the vintage, would have a special
parking place. Our poster and T-shirt cars are yellow this year.”
I
wondered if Chevrolet was involved. They are, Weidman said, to the extent they
sent a collection of concept and racing cars from the Design Studio. We walked
to the Mid-America front entrance and found a small but potent display of Corvettes.
I’d seen the Aerovette, Astro Vette, and Reynolds Aluminum Corvette before.
