This year’s Corvettes at Carlisle, an always-fun show, also hosted a more serious side with a large auction featuring 126 Corvettes up for bids. It marked the 7th annual Corvette-only auction at Carlisle and the beginning of a new era. The late Bob Gold, a well-known Corvette dealer, conducted the first Corvettes at Carlisle Auction in 1994. This year's auction was officially named the “eClassics.com Corvettes at Carlisle Auction,” created by the pooling of Websites by Hemmings Motor News, Speedvision Cable Network, and the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. eClassics.com has pumped up the collector car audience with both TV and Internet bidders, another factor in the sales success of this auction.
Auctioneers didn't reveal the reserve on this Bridgehampton Blue '71 LS6 with matching numbers and less than 300 miles on a body-off restoration.
