All who entered the SEMA registration building got a
look at the Racesearch.com Project Y2K C5, which was displayed outside the entrance.
The huge majority of SEMA Corvettes were C5s, so it was nice to see Lee Lasky’s
“Noah’s Ark” ’64 Sting Ray in the Restoration area.

for automotive retail and wholesale stores. All the major players are there,
from longtime SEMA exhibitors Edelbrock and Holley with their huge, plushly-carpeted
displays, to companies like B&B Fabrication, BBK Performance, and MagnaFlow,
whose product lines include a higher percentage of Corvette parts.
Despite the rash of slammed rice-rockets, there were
still plenty of Corvette display vehicles and new parts, especially exhaust
components for C5s. In fact, most of the Corvette-related products displayed
in the New Products area were devoted to the C5 exhaust, from BBK’s new headers
to MagnaFlow’s Cat-Back system with optional X-pipes. Out on the floor, we also
found slip-on C5 tips with engraved C5 logos from Cone Engineering. For a closer
